Greetings Comrades’,
As we approach the end of this administrations year, let me
first say how honored we are to have served you and this organization.
Together we have accomplished many monumental task and instituted what
I would like to think are some new and innovative ideas. Although we were
confronted with a few obstacles’ we still persevered on to do what is best for
the organization.
The new elections will be upon us and we will be confronted with some important
question when it comes to our elected comrades. Like I our great government it is
imperative that we sift through the clutter of issues and seek out those who we feel
will best represent our Legion in the national as well as the local community. In saying
this we must ask ourselves a few important questions.
- What is it that we want to see in our Post home? (i.e. new ideas, better service,
increased support of our local community and government)
- Are we giving feed back to those who you elected to represent you and ensure
that they are doing what is best for the Legion?
- Are we still relevant too the community or should we step it up to another level?
- Are we keeping with the mandated programs that we have been tasked to for fill?
Some of the answers to the question will require change and often change is perceived
as bad but I think that we can bring together traditional ideas with those that are new a
progressive to make our post the best that it can be. Look at the records of those you elect
and do not discount the new candidate’s, they may bring a fresh and different perspective to
some of our most pressing issues.
In closing I want to emphasize the importance of all of you getting out to vote in June
and remember that you can make a difference and that you to are eligible to run for an office
if you feel that you are what our post needs to continue to thrive into the upcoming year. Get
involved for the good of the Legion. Thank you and God Bless.
For God and Country,
E. Al Carter
